Ida Hempel

Ida has dedicated her career to strategies for investing in and scaling high-impact climate solutions. Ida previously worked as an investor at Generation Investment Management, where she co-founded Just Climate, a new investment platform focused on climatetransition assets and infrastructure. At Just Climate, Ida sourced and diligenced opportunities across energy, industrials, and transportation. During her time at Generation, Ida also led the development of the firm’s inaugural TCFD report and served as acore member of the COP26 Private Finance Hub’s Portfolio Alignment Team.

Prior to Generation and Just Climate, Ida was a venture investor at the Emerson Collective focused on early-stage climate tech opportunities and part of the new product business development team at Tesla. Ida began her career at the Boston Consulting Group.

Ida holds an MBA and MS in Environment & Resources from Stanford University and a AB in Applied Math and Economics from Harvard College. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and in her free time can be found speaking with builders in the nature-based solutions space on her podcast Solving Climate, Naturally.
